EAGLES WIN FRANCHISE-RECORD 10TH CONSECUTIVE GAME

  • Philadelphia won its franchise-record 10th consecutive game to improve to 12-2 (.857).

  • The Eagles have started 12-2 or better through 14 games for only the fourth time in team history, having previously done so in 2022 (13-1), 2017 (12-2) and 2004 (13-1). This is the seventh time Philadelphia has won 12+ games (also 1980, 2002-04, 2017 and 2022).

  • Nick Sirianni is the second head coach in club history to record multiple 12+ win seasons (also 14-3 in 2022), joining Andy Reid (three, 2002-04). He is the first Eagles head coach to do so within their first four years with the team.

Philadelphia is tied for the best record in the NFC (also Detroit).

  • Per Elias Sports, Philadelphia is the fourth NFL team to win 10 games after a bye since byes were introduced in 1990 (2015 Panthers, 2012 Broncos, 2004 Steelers).

Nick Sirianni has produced a 46-19 (.708) career record in four seasons with Philadelphia.

  • According to Elias Sports, Sirianni’s .708 winning percentage is the 6th-highest in NFL history, behind Guy Chamberlin (.784, 58-16-7 from 1922-27), John Madden (.759, 103-32-7 from 1969-78), Vince Lombardi (.738, 96-34-6 from 1959-67, ‘69), Ray Flaherty (.720, 54-21-3 from 1936-42) and George Allen (.712, 116-47-5 from 1966-77).

  • His .708 winning percentage ranks 3rd among NFL head coaches since 2021, trailing only Andy Reid (.769, 50-15) and Sean McDermott (.719, 46-18).

The Eagles (.792, 19-5) have logged the 3rd-best home winning percentage in the NFL since 2022, behind Buffalo (.870, 20-3) and Kansas City (.792, 19-5). Philadelphia is 14-3 (.824) in its last 17 games at Lincoln Financial Field, earning victories in each of the last five home contests.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Following a defensive three-and-out to start the game, Philadelphia claimed a 3-0 lead in the first quarter with a 7-play, 54-yard opening drive that resulted in a 34-yard FG by Jake Elliott.

Jalen Hurts connected on 4-of-4 passes for 53 yards during the series, which included completions of 22 yards to Grant Calcaterra and 21 yards to DeVonta Smith.

  • The Eagles made it a 10-3 score in the first quarter with a 5-yard TD from Jalen Hurts to A.J. Brown, finishing a 6-play, 70-yard drive. Hurts completed 3-of-3 attempts to Brown for gains of 16, 20 and 5 yards, while Saquon Barkley moved the offense to the PIT 5 with a 22-yard run.

  • Brown has logged 5+ TDs in every year of his NFL career (23 TDs with Philadelphia).

  • Hurts completed 8-of-8 passes for 104 yards and 1 TD in the first quarter.

Philadelphia increased its advantage to 17-3 in the second quarter with a 2–yard TD reception by DeVonta Smith, completing a 9-play, 45-yard possession. The series was set up by Cooper DeJean’s 22-yard punt return after the Eagles’ defense forced a three-and-out.

Five of Smith’s 6 receiving TDs this season have come at Lincoln Financial Field.

  • Jalen Hurts completed 3-of-4 passes for 42 yards, including a 17-yard pass to A.J. Brown that positioned the offense at the PIT 25. Kenneth Gainwell also hauled in a 16-yard reception on third-and-3 to give Philadelphia first-and-goal from the PIT 2.

The Eagles made it a 20-13 game in the third quarter with a 41-yard FG by Jake Elliott.

  • During the drive, DeVonta Smith converted a second-and-20 with a 20-yard catch.

  • After Darius Slay recovered a fumble by Steelers RB Najee Harris at the PHI 26, Philadelphia marched 74 yards on 13 plays to make it 27-13 in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard rushing TD by Jalen Hurts. Hurts’ score marked his 14th rushing TD (1st in the NFL), tying Cam Newton in 2011 for the 2nd-most by a QB in NFL history, trailing only himself and Josh Allen in 2024 (15).

During the possession, Hurts produced a 23-yard run that moved the offense to the PIT 27. Kenneth Gainwell set the Eagles up at the PIT 1 with a 14-yard catch on third-and-9.

The takeaway that set up Philadelphia’s scoring drive was the 5th FR of Slay’s career. It was his first FR since returning a fumble 33 yards for a TD on 11/31/21 at Detroit.

Philadelphia iced the game with a 21-play, 99-yard drive that lasted 10:29.

  • The drive was the Eagles’ longest possession by plays since at least 2001.

It was Philadelphia’s longest drive by time since 12/30/18 at Washington (11:49).

COMPLEMENTARY FOOTBALL

Philadelphia combined for 401 total yards (270 passing, 131 rushing) in today’s win. Additionally, the Eagles finished 10-of-17 (58.8%) in third-down situations (1-of-1 on fourth down).

A.J. Brown (110 yards, 1 TD) and DeVonta Smith (109 yards, 1 TD) each recorded 100+ receiving yards and 1 TD. It was just the second time that the duo accomplished that feat together, having previously reached those marks on 12/4/22 vs. Tennessee.

  • Brown is tied with Terry McLaurin for the most 100+ yard receiving performances in the NFL this season, despite missing three games due to injury.

  • Philadelphia has rushed for 100+ yards in each of the first 14 games of the season, extending a team record (including a team-high 65 yards by Saquon Barkley).

The Eagles’ defense held Pittsburgh to 163 total yards (107 passing, 56 rushing). The offensive output was the Steelers’ lowest in a single game since 9/19/10 at Tennessee (127).

  • Philadelphia did not allow a first down during Pittsburgh’s first five possessions.

The Eagles are the only team in the NFL to hold three opponents under 175 total yards in a game this season (119 at N.Y. Giants, 146 at Dallas, and 163 vs. Pittsburgh). Philadelphia additionally has held five different opponents to no more than 150 passing yards.

  • Josh Sweat registered his team-leading 8th sack of the season (2nd-most of his career, trailing only 11.0 in 2022). Nolan Smith now ranks 2nd on the defense with 5.5 sacks.
