Here are the Football Stories College Players of the Week for week three of the 2023 season.
Offensive Player of the Week – Jay White, running back, Delaware Valley University. White, a junior, who played at North Penn High School had a career day on Saturday as the Aggies beat Eastern 29-6 at historic Franklin Field. White accounted for all Del Val’s touchdowns – three on the ground and a fourth through the air. In all, White carried the ball 19 times for 194 yards with touchdown runs of 35, 18 and nine yards. His one catch was for a 56-yard score.
Defensive Player of the Week – Diwun Black, linebacker, Temple University. In a 41-9 win over Norfolk State, Black, a transfer from the University of Florida, tallied six total tackles, three tackles for loss which added up to 14 yards in losses, and a sack. Black, who hales from Jackson, MS, and his teammates on the Owls’ defense held the Spartans to only 240 yards of offense.
